February is heart health month – a great time to think about how to incorporate more heart-healthy foods into your menus. According to the Centers for Disease Control, heart disease remains the leading cause of death among Americans. As a healthcare foodservice professional, you play an important role in promoting heart health for your residents and patients. And serving up heart-healthy foods and meals doesn’t have to sacrifice taste or be complicated! In this webinar, registered dietitian and chef, Abbie Gellman, will discuss evidence-based nutrition strategies to promote heart health, review the principles of heart-healthy diet patterns including the Mediterranean and DASH diets, and highlight foods with heart health-promoting properties. Chef Abbie will help you put this information to practice giving you ideas for your foodservice menus that promote heart health and deliver great taste!
